Ramón Ortega Quer has recorded a new album with flutist Ana de la Vega, which has been released recently at Pentatone. The two prove that their instruments complement each other perfectly in the works of Carl Stamitz and Joseph Haydn. The Trondheim Soloists were their “partners in crime” for the recording.

For the new season, Ramón Ortega Quero will be professor at the facutly for oboe at the Colburn School Los Angeles. Since 1950, the renown school for music and drama graduated numerous successful musicians and dancers.
In addition, Ramón Ortega Quero will be principal oboe of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra for the new season 2018/2019. It will be a very special season because of the 100th anniversary of the orchestra. Conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, a lot of unforgettable concert experiences are exptected.
The wind quintet variation5 has released a new CD. For their album, the five musicians recorded music by Malcolm Arnold, Jean Françaix, Paul Hindemith and Carl Nielsen. You can find excerpts and ordering information here.
